Crazy for You is a hilarious and show stopping musical comedy set in New York City and Dead Rock, Nevada in the 1930s that will make you want to dance in the aisles.   Bobby Child, a well-to-do 1930's playboy, whose dream in life is to dance.   Choosing to go to Dead Rock at his mother’s advice, and to be away from his soon to be ex-fiancée Irene, his mission is to shut down the town’s theatre.  There he meets Polly Baker and things will never be the same.  With romance in the air, will everything go bad for Bobby and Polly when she finds out about his plans to shut down the theatre where her late mom was a star?   Memorable Gershwin tunes include I Can't Be Bothered Now, Bidin' My Time, I Got Rhythm, Naughty Baby, They Can't Take That Away from Me, But Not for Me, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Embraceable You and Someone to Watch Over Me. It's a high energy comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers and classic Gershwin music.

Crazy for You ran for four years on Broadway, three years in London, and has been applauded by audiences around the world ever since its debut.  With music by George Gershwin and Lyrics by Ira Gershwin, Crazy for You, a book by Ken Ludwig, is a hilarious retelling of the film “Girl Crazy.”  It has won three Tony Awards on Broadway including Best Musical and nominated for nine.

Crazy for You is produced by The Performing Arts Academy, a four-year public high school administered by the Ocean County Vocational Technical School District. It is a part of the Lakehurst Center located at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.  The Academy opened in September, 2001 for students entering the 9th grade.   This high school is a specialized high school developed around the theater, dance and voice theme. This full-time school is geared toward students who wish to excel in the Performing Arts.  This high school was developed specifically for the young artist-in-training.
