LAKEWOOD, NJ – The finals of the Strand Senior Idol competition will be held at The Historic Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ on July 12 2009. Auditions were held throughout the area last month.

After all auditions were completed, the top 18 contestants were chosen to compete in the final event. All 18 contestants will open the show with a group performance of the song, “Luck Be a Lady,” from Frank Loesser’s, Guys and Dolls. Select Musical Performances include: “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” “Return To Me,” “I Could Have Danced All Night” “ and “I’ve Got The World On A String.” The Quotations will conclude the show, including a performance of their top 40 hit, “Imagination.” “This is the chance for our community to watch the astonishing performances of our local senior citizens,” commented Jan Topoleski, Artistic Director.

Tickets are $11 each and can be purchased at the Box Office Monday - Friday 10 AM - 5 PM, over the phone at (732) 367-7789, or over the internet at www.strand.org. The performance will take place on 400 Clifton Avenue at 2 PM. The Strand Theater is a non-profit organization located on the corner of Clifton Avenue and 4th Street in Lakewood, NJ.
